Beams: a live music series featuring Rising Sun Daughter (Grace Rolland)
Original air date: Thursday, May 14 at 7p.m.
Rising Sun Daughter is a solo collaborative project of Grace Rolland. Based in Mesa, Arizona, Rolland has a long musical history. Her grandfather was an illustrious pedagogue of classical string playing and she was raised in a family of musicians and music educators. She trained classically on the cello, learned piano and guitar and sang Patsy Montana in her family’s cowboy fiddle band. Her history with ASU Kerr goes back into her childhood; she spent time on the Kerr property, brought by her father to listen to his many bands and perform. Adept at many instruments, Rolland writes songs with attention turned to sound.Click Here to Watch
